About us

The Associazione Ars Sacra (Ars Sacra Cultural Association) is a registered nonprofit (Ente del Terzo Settore, ETS) under Italian law.
Founded in 2025 in Narni, Umbria, it promotes education and research in traditional sacred art, theology, and the cultural history of Christianity.

Ars Sacra’s work focuses on:

  • Education: developing a body of work including essays, online courses, lectures, and study materials on sacred art and Christian culture and history.
  • Public outreach: maintaining a bilingual online platform offering educational resources, articles, and videos for students, teachers and general readers.
  • Community building: connecting artists, scholars and those interested in preserving the living traditions of Christian sacred art.

Ars Sacra also publishes The Sacred Images Project, a bilingual blog exploring the theology, history, and symbolism of Christian art from the early Church to the medieval period.

Based in the heart of Umbria, the Association continues the cultural and spiritual legacy of the monasteries and workshops that for over a thousand years united beauty, craftsmanship and prayer in service of the divine.
